The GHN were looking into developing a new social enterprise service and wanted a feasibility study carried out to build into a Business Plan. Providing information on the education and training sector in Scotland and the Social Enterprise sector we worked with them to assess what available support there was nationally and also the potential to return a profit on the service.

Forth Sector Development
(October 2009 – to date)
Brought in to support the development of the FSD team. We worked with the team on business and marketing planning and staff development.
In addition we are project managing the Scottish Government backed SROI project for FSD, which will continue until 2010.
"Denise is working with us to develop systems and project manage some of our contracts. She has proved to be an invaluable addition to the team, giving us a fresh perspective and working with us to develop and grow.
All businesses and organisations benefit from a little objectivity and Denise has provided this with a very practical and common sense approach in ways that we can use immediately to improve and grow the business."

Amber is a Young Person's Mediation Service run by Edinburgh Cyrenians.
The highly skilled Amber team needed help to develop a marketing strategy and work plan, to increase awareness of Amber and the number of referrals they receive.
As part of the work plan, Denise worked with Amber and Scope Productions to co-ordinate a short promotional film that could fully explain what the mediation process is and the effect it can have on people’s lives.

This is what the team leader Vikki Phillipps had to say:
"Denise was an amazing help - she really got us to focus on what we wanted from a marketing strategy and with her input and support we now have a really clear strategic approach to our marketing... Denise worked really hard with all of us as a team and individually... made everything seem so straightforward and achievable and gave us all a really good boost when we needed it most!"
Braidwood Neighbourhood Centre
(Dumbiedykes Edinburgh)
(November 2008 – March 2009)
The BNC needed a community needs analysis carried out and a business plan written. We interviewed stakeholders in the centre through a range of techniques, researched available guidance and assistance to help to develop the Management Committee members and devised a realistic and achievable plan with the Management Committee.
“The two Denises provided an excellent community needs profile which helped to focus our work as a centre, and was consulted by the Neighbourhood Planning Team.
Their approachable friendly but persistent nature ensured that consultation was wide. The business plan was clear and concise and gave us the guidance we need... down to us now to implement it.”
